The 4 essential things to know
Know your plant
Ficus Microcarpa - Ginseng Bonsai is one among few bonsai plants with easiest maintenance. Growing this will be a good start into bonsai world of plants. Being said that, it needs to be observed and maintained regularly. Learning their signs which indicate over/lack of watering and lighting will help you to care better
Learn about planter
'Cube' is a self-watering planter. It has 3 parts. A pot, a floater and a container to store water. Pot has pits filled with LECA balls which will regulate the flow of water to soil. Floater helps you to identify water level easily through the window in container. Not to worry if there is no floater in your planter
Watering
Water only when top surface of soil feels dry. Water the soil after removing the inner pot separately, do not let the water get lodged in outer pot on regular days.
Use Self-Watering/ Store water in outer pot, only when you are not able to water more than a 10 days

Lighting
Ficus Microcarpa is not suitable at low light areas. Place it where there is medium to bright indirect sunlight.
Bright direct sunlight for long time can burn the leaves.
Observe plant regularly and take appropriate action

Do’s and Don’ts
Don’t Do This
Do not water directly to soil in this condition. Your plant doesn’t like its soil to be wet all the time. At least one inch soil from surface has to become dry before watering. It is difficult to check the dryness of soil every time and hence we have given these thumb rules
Don’t Do This
Use Self-Watering or Store water in outer pot, only when you are not able to water for more than 7 days. In that case, add water to outer pot until the white floater is seen at top of the transparent window. Water it after you return to it in peace. Do this only once in two months, doing this often will lead to root rot
Do This
On regular days, remove the inner pot, take it to a sink and Water the soil directly. Add water until the excess water drains out of the inner pot. Then place it back in empty outer pot. Give a gap of 2 days between waterings in summers/very bright sunlight. Increase gap in winters/low sunlight
Placement for Sunlight
Always place your Ficus Microcarpa in Green zones. Use image to understand the suitable area for placement. It cannot survive in low light areas. It needs natural sunlight. If too much leaves are dropping naturally even after watering regularly with slight touch, means it needs more sunlight. Your plant loves bright indirect sunlight throughout the day. If not, it needs minimum of 3 hours of bright indirect sunlight
